Task 3 - An Inconvenient Truth

The film is a strong cry to alert people to the importance of preserving the planet we live on, and to remind them that the land is an extension of their bodies and the space occupied by each of them in this vast cosmic vacuum .It is nice from politician like Al Gore to be interested in issues of the environment and climate, whereas many of the people in power deny global warming. The goals of this film in my opinion are political and commercial .The film attempts to prove that global warming is a reality; it will be catastrophic and human activities are the main causes of the problem and to deal with this problem must be at the top of our priorities. The film has a lot of exaggerations and inaccuracies, for example, Al Gore cited the deadly heat waves in Europe in 2003, concluding that climate change will lead to more deaths. But global warming would mean fewer deaths due to extremely low temperatures. Gore points to shrinking sea ice in the Northern Hemisphere, but he fails to mention that the ice is growing in the southern hemisphere; in addition to that the film adopts one point of view and one is not exposed to views that would make him lose credibility and neutrality .
Overall the film tries to inspire us that if the Global Warming continue to increase, then we have to start from now to build large ships to escape from sea water.

Global Warming - Task 2

Global warming is the rise of the earth’s temperature above the normal rate .Most of the marked increase in the rate of global temperature appears to be a result of the increase in greenhouse gases as a result of activities carried out by human beings. The land and climate scientists say the temperature of the atmosphere will drop to -15 degrees Celsius, rather than the current average temperature +15 degrees Celsius. The atmosphere plays a key role in organizing the above average temperatures. Part of the heat coming from the sun goes back into space and is mostly kept at the bottom of the airspace surrounding the cover. These lower layers from the air contain water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and other gases. It is warming the bottom of the atmosphere to radiate heat back on the surface of the earth.
This phenomenon is called global warming or the greenhouse effect. With the increase in temperature the seas and oceans evaporate . If the weather is warm or dry, it can accommodate quantities of water vapor . The greater the proportion of water vapor in the air means increased global warming, because the water vapor retains heat . In the Himalayas there are 20 glacial lakes in Nepal and 24 glacial lakes in Bhutan which have melted and the water threatens crops and property with flooding for ten years to come. With the beginning of the industrial revolution, the rising concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide makes the earth hotter than before. As well, carbon dioxide interacts in the atmosphere with water which results in acid rain, which could lead to loss of vegetation.
A team believes that greenhouse gases are the cause behind global warming, and the rates of increase of greenhouse gases increases air pollution arising from natural pollutants (volcanoes, forest fires and persistent organic pollutants) and industrial pollutants resulting from human activities in the use of energy (oil, coal, natural gas ), and logging and deforestation, and this leads to increased emission of greenhouse gases.
Since we are not able to intervene in the natural pollutants, we need to reduce the man-made pollutants . Japan hopes to be able to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and combat the phenomenon of global warming, it has a plan to pump carbon dioxide into underground storage reservoirs instead of release into the atmosphere. To address global warming, we need to force factories polluting the environment to absorb the polluting gases.
If we think about the matter carefully, we will find ourselves the guilty party, and where each of us can be found on the surface of this planet, we have to reduce the real amount of energy as well as reducing environmental pollution. For example, the possibility of generating electricity using wind or solar radiation is called green and clean. We can also use public transport instead of private cars and we can reduce the number of unnecessary trips in cars and planes. We can also reduce the water usage & close the computers which we are not using.
The Japanese asked their community not to wear neckties in order to reduce the need for conditioning in the summer on the job. The Scandinavian people use bicycles to go to work and recreation as well. In well-insulated buildings, much less energy is needed for winter heating and summer cooling.

Task 1-ENG 174 Project

My name is Rashed Almehrezi.I was born on 1-1-1974 in a village in Ras Al Khaimah called Masafi which is famous for its fresh water. My father is dead. I have twelve brothers and sisters and I am the oldest. My primary education was in Masafi .The preparatory school was in Sharjah and secondary was in Abu Dhabi. I served five years of military service. I now work in telecommunications since thirteen years ago. I am married since eight years ago and I have a daughter. I currently work and study and attend to my family that I have no free time even to myself. Three years ago, I lived in an apartment near my work station . I was not studying at that time. It was a beautiful life .Sleep after lunch , stay awake at night and enjoy my life very well. But now I go directly from college to work and from work directly to sleep. I left my family in Masafi to be able to study and be spared some of the money. My program is full,5 days a week busy, as well as at the end of the week. I do not find time to study .I do not know Will I be able to graduate from college or not. In fact, I regret leaving my previous live and continuing education. I lost a lot. But when I think of my children in the future I do not underestimate the difficulties . Certificate would greatly improve my standard of living, which will be reflected on my children. Life and work experience may mean a lot, but without a certificate it is to no avail. My advice to you is : do not neglect your studies. Do not take a job before getting your college certificate .Philosophy says that good morals are the most important certificate we should get from this world. It is a testimony to take us to the life after this life. Pay attention and make sure to not waste this certificate ,otherwise you will be wasted in the horrors of the Day of Resurrection.

This is my ENG 174 Project
In this project I'm going to talk about the global warming , causes, consequences and solution .
